One year down, F O R E V E R to go!
Bb and I got married last year in March and it was definitely the best day of our lives! This first year of marriage has been everything I expected and more, but at the same time, nothing I ever expected haha
It was true when they say, marriage takes a lot of work. Growing up I didn’t really understand what that meant… but now I realize that by “work” it means, being selfless, being encouraging, being a cook, being house cleaner, being a prayer warrior, communicating, and putting your ego aside. Marriage is hard. Marriage is fun. Marriage takes LOVE. Marriage is beautiful and Daunting work. Marriage takes two. Isaac and I are the most annoying when were in a disagreement. Why you ask, because we cannot go longer then 5 min apart without the other walking into to room and just start laughing… in that moment we both forgive and love and talk about how silly and annoying that was hahaha! Yes, there are times when the situation is more serious but when it is, then we know one of us will need to talk it out or compromise. I think the biggest advice for marriage is to have lots and lots of communication, and be willing to serve your husband – when you want to, and when you don’t- and just love.
“Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.”
This is 1 corinthians 13:1-13 in The Message (MSG) Version. I added this version, because some of the wording seems a little easier to understand.
I love these verses from the Bible because it really helps us realize what love is! It really helps me to know to show love and give love when I’m not “feeling”
